Heheh... Yeah, Hazel continues to be a madman making this crazier and driving the limited safety of the Status Quo further out the window. Really been digging what a dangerous nutjob he's shaped up to be. ^^

Kinda hard to talk about this one, but Donna, the minor gang-leader he's speaking to, has popped up before. She's the daughter of Gaston, former big-timer Alex got sent to prison before the start of the comic. She's been drawn to look older here than the last few times we've seen her; prior to this she looked like she was ten, she's meant to be 14. At the same time, the earrings and whatnot are there to make her look like a kid trying to look older than she really is.

Her bodyguard was told to have a Rock-Man look, specifically sort of like Tremor from Mortal Kombat X. After some back-and-forth we leaned into Tremor's crystal-model, so the guy has this set of solid crystaline armor.... Kinda came out to be a neat look. ^^

Real quick - we should be back to a regular schedule this week with a Friday update. Hurricane might end up causing some issues with that, but it doesn't seem like it will. If nothing else there'll be filler but there should be the next page instead.

It was kind of always intended to have Hazel make this sort of move to get Gaston's crew serving under him, though for a long time it was going to be kind of a move he was putting together behind the scenes before taking over and they were going to help with getting Xmarlek out of the way; there was never really an opportunity to do it properly though, and the buildup to Hazel's takeover really went on for way longer than I ever expected it to, so it wound up being moved to happening now. I do think that works for the better anyway, really showing how Hazel is turning the city's dynamic on its head with striking up this deal while alienating the Order.

Sort of a funny show of how thrown-together Luciana getting a haircut was as an idea, when she first showed up earlier in the chapter I'd edited it while coloring the page. Then here Adam initially drew it long and I had to have him fix it. Sort of weird how that works out but think kind of necessary since it was done in reaction to some readers thinking she looked too similar to Ivy League.

In either case, yeah, do hope that everyone enjoys this page. We'll be seeing more of Donna and her bodyguard later in the chapter thus why it was kind of important to get the bodyguard's look nailed down now.

This is bad news no matter how you look at it.

Heh. Certainly doesn't bode well, no.
