Yeah, this conversation's moving right along. Two more pages left in the chapter, so stick around for that - the next page will be continuing the conversation, last one will both wrap it up and show something else to lead into the next chapter.

Not a whole lot here to comment on, but hope everyone enjoys. It is good getting back to the subject of Alex's life in high school and all of that, and we learn a bit more about when these two dated; we'll be seeing that explored more fully down the line, but the key things to know right now are shown here - nothing really came of it and Sarabeth was one of many.

Heh. Ya know, oddly satisfying in posting this that just a day or two ago I wrapped up writing a scene for the next chapter that's quite the opposite of this one - a lot going on but we can't hear most of it, only see it. We'll be seeing exactly what that is down the line though - for now, hope everyone enjoys this.

I think this has already been mentioned, but Alex's body isn't just lying on a slab somewhere atrophying- it's been frozen in time or something. Not even aging at this point. 'Cause yeah, otherwise there'd be some Fridge Horror and Alex's situation sorta sucks enough.

But yeah, not a whole lot else to say about this page because I obviously didn't so much.

Again, think Sarabeth's attitude is pretty presumptuous here. I think the aspect about having to go back to high school seems like outright torture to me, built-in-friends or not. Then again, I get the feeling my (thankfully brief) experience in a typical high school was notably worse than Martin's. If given the option, I'd rather break my leg than be forced to go back to that hellpit. Thank God for homeschooling.

I guess Alex's alcohol tolerance was not as good as it is now back when he was in high school and did John go to high school with them?

The alcohol thing is part of it, but there's also just how active in that sort of thing he was back in the day given the games he and the Vices liked to play.

But yeah, John did go to school with them, and Alex met him through Sarabeth. We'll see more on their school days down the line.
