In a stunning twist, Alex has learned a Nigerian prince wants to pay him billions of dollars in return for a small investment!

Or not. Yeah, naturally whatever it is that Alex is seeing on that laptop will be the subject of the 300th page. Anyone want to take any guesses as to just what that may be? Remember, it's coming up on Monday and it'll be the last page of the chapter.

Anyway, this page itself then. Naturally there isn't too much to comment on, but some things stand out. For one, we finally get to see Laura playing her bagpipes. We really haven't had anything done with that since it was first brought up in the first chapter, so I really wanted to get them in there. Probably any time we see her house from here on out they'll be lying around or something. Granted, hard telling when that'll be since she's not in the next WaR chapter. Granted, she is featured heavily in the next Black Princess one, but we don't see her at home.

I kind of meant to have more activities being shown off as happening at this party than just what we see here (well, this was supposed to be the focus of the chapter in original planning, but you know what I mean, in the final cut) but given the high headcount I preferred to keep it simple. Plus it allows for some more spacious shots this way, and I am very happy with how this page came out.

The no dialogue thing gets done a lot lately. There've been three or four in this chapter, the next BP chapter has a brief silent sequence... There are no actual silent pages in the next WaR chapter but there are a few that have very, very little dialogue.

Remember, after the next page, we're going to have something of a production break for about three weeks where we'll be running some filler (on both Mondays and Fridays), then we'll start chapter eleven, Red, White, and Blue.

Really enjoyed doing this one... Well, okay not quite enjoyed; Laura with the bagpipes was really hard to put togther. Still think it came out sorta wonky even after a good deal of work went into it. Do really like that panel though. The silence almost lets you hear the music, in a way, and the extra-large size, not even constricted into a tiny box but instead filling the page, sort of feels welcoming.

Other pages are good too, of course, especially liked Alex getting to meet Daddy Croft. Kinda makes me wonder a few things about later in the comic, so will have to ask Martin on it later.

Weird, all these guys in one room playing games and there's no pool and no game system. Learn to throw a damn party, Laura. Your bagpipes are a poor substitute for a Nintendo.

There are so many things going on is this comic I don't have a clue what Alex could be looking although I doubt I'll be surprised when the answer is revealed on Monday.
