First off - sorry, still no weekend update, guys. We should be pulling a bit further ahead sooner rather than later, but we still can't pull it off just yet.

Arc! The Patriot Initiative! Woo, if I ran this page on BP tomorrow, our obligations on the year four previews'd be done with and we could take time off until the fourth anniversary. Not that that'll happen, of course.

I actually pictured the last panel structured pretty radically differently, with a zoomed-out, wide shot showing a bunch of different Patriot Initiative members storming in from all around. Didn't come out that way, but I imagine there are more members than just those four running in from other areas.

If you read BP, the words being said here when the Patriot Initiative should be recognizable since we've already seen them twice, in the year four preview and in a fairly recent page talking about the group. Granted, not that huge a thing, because the Patriot Initiative isn't really the focus of what's going on here and they're going to be more important to BP than to WaR.

You know, Hazel, you aren't doing yourself any favors in being taken seriously carrying around a pink cellphone.

I like how I draw Hazel to dress like Jesse from Breaking Bad, then you give him a pink cell phone. In the last season of the show, Jesse wound up carrying around a Hello Kitty cell. Weird.

Well, guess this ruins the idea of Grant being the only person in our universe who can fly. Kinda weirded out by that, I really liked the touch he was the only person when in comics it's so common that if Flight is your only power you're pretty much useless (see; Angel and Hawkman), Then this happens. Then again, did have a character planned for Blues later who's also capable of flying so this was gonna happen eventually.

Speaking on that guy, the flag-cape was a last-minute addition. His outfit and look has been decided by a long time, but looked like he needed something extra, especially since there's nothing uberly-patriotic like the other members of the group (designed after him) so threw that on. ^^

Really like the speech being given over the phones. We'll see more of this in the future.

If it helps, the idea is that Mr. Atlanta's flight isn't natural and he's had some cybernetic upgrades that aren't immediately visible. His only real power is super strength.

Starchild: Hm, wait. . .

Starchild: Okay, that's not --

Phones: -In our own native land

Phones: in defense of the freedom that is our birth-right; for the protection of our property
Starchild: Gah! God, I thought I turned that off!

Phones: acquired solely by the honest industry of our forefathers, and ourselves, we have taken up arms.

Phones: I doubt I am speaking to many fellow patriots right now, so listen especially carefully.

I knew Arc wasn't going to be the only new villain to appear in this chapter, this is getting very interesting.
