So... This isn't going well, huh?

Yeah, not sure how much I have to say on this one but that's mostly just because I'm really happy with it so there's not much to dissect. This one did do the storyboard thing I was talking about wanting to try more with last week's page, and I think it makes a very nice case for it - really pictured this page a very certain way and it delivered on it.

Though still not entirely satisfied with the color of the blood. I really can't seem to get that to a decent tint, it's always either too dark or too bright. Probably will darken it juuuust a tad in the next page and see if maybe that time I'll nail it.

Yeah, liquid in general is pretty hard. Like Martin's said before in coloring, too dark makes it look solid and too bright makes it look like Kool-Aid, but I feel sorta uncertain about it at times with line-art. It's hard to distinguish between "liquid" and "Blobby."

But yeah, wasn't entirely sure I was picturing the right thing with the script and asked Martin for it. As a result think this is one of the stongest pages in the chapter. That kind of unrelenting beating is just painful to look through.

The script called for as much blood as possible. As I threw it in, I hit this horrifying realization; I tried to fit in as much blood as I could, but it's hard since the mask is covering most of the skin, so what blood we see is just leaking through the edges of it. Which means... yeah, underneath the mask it's probably smeared all over the place.

The brutality this scene is disturbing and scary.

Maybe Alex will still yet find a way to turn things around.
