Yeah, like we said, hugely excited for this chapter. From the first damn script I was saying "Ooo, this is gonna be an awesome one to draw." Had a lot of fun with this page. ^^

So yeah, this annual fight has been going on for a while; think the page was a great opener to set up all the action we're gonna see later in this chapter. Ending note has a perfect implied ellipsis to it.

You may notice Alex's different coat in those few panels. Well... With Starchild, the BP Cast, and the Blues kids all getting fancy new costumes me and Martin were feeling kinda underwhelmed by Alex's bizarrely-featureless purple coat. Martin took this page as a chance to experiment with something a little different; if we didn't like the end result didn't have to use it again, but left the door open to getting Alex some more detailed superhero gear.

Also we see the new Font in full here. Me and Martin were both getting disinterested in the font we had, and wanted something more comic-book-y. I dunno, thoughts? If you have something you think might be more appropriate, let us know.

Naturally had to invent some jobber-heroes for Ivy to beat up through all of these. A couple of obscurely familiar faces....
-That woman with a vaguely Geno-esque design and the dude with the sunglasses and cowboy hat were seen here: http://wrightasrayne.thecomicseries.com/comics/498/
-That one bloke with the beard in the last panel later went on to be murdered by Salix over in Blues: http://bluebloodheroes.thecomicseries.com/comics/473
-The second panel was a total re-draw from when we briefly saw Alex's first victory over Ivy League back in Chapter Four: http://wrightasrayne.thecomicseries.com/comics/157/
-The bloke in the fourth panel is Bo Rai Cho from Mortal Kombat, the reason there's a boxer there is that I was watching Pulp Fiction while drawing it and we were at Butch's chapter when I got to that panel. Also in the last panel, one of the heroes is a female version of Dollar Bill from Watchmen. Y'know, since this is in a bank and everything....

This page went through a couple of versions due to the fact I'd started writing this chapter at one point then opted to back up and write the previous one instead. Could've just reused the one script still, but was rewritten in this case largely to put the focus more on the Alex vs. Ivy dynamic while before it was just Ivy blowing through people. Additionally the last panel was focused on Alex rather than on her.

Think this way works a lot better, draws more attention to the primary purpose of the chapter. It's about quite a bit more than just Ivy vs. Starchild, however; there's something of an underlying story within this one that'll play into the next chapter, and we'll be addressing multiple subplots along the way. That'll include a few characters popping in you might not quite expect.

Be a few pages before we get to the bank where the bulk of the action takes place, though. We'll be starting with a couple of more commonly seen locations first.

Heh, definitely hoping everyone enjoys it. We've both been having a lot of fun with it.
