Pft. "So young you're practically a fetus." She's gonna feel reaaaally stupid when one of the heroes from Blues shows up.

There's something funny about Alex entering the bank today, but will let Martin get into it. ^^

Yeah, idea is that over the years this has become a bigger and bigger event, to the point that now Ivy's got a bunch of challengers all lined up to take on the Queen. Hell, I think since Alex's been MIA for a few months, there's probably an even BIGGER turn-out this year for wanna-be heroes who figure the door's open. There's even a table of merchandise just behind her in the second panel. What's great is that it gives you the chance to go into people who'd wanna make a name for themselves. Is a really great way to bring Mercy and Hazel in, in such a way that it makes sense. Just a great way to examine super-heroes.

In particular it was really good to finally reveal in-full the new costume for Starchild. ^^ Funnily enough we had to draw a full-body shot a while back for someone and that's what we wound up using a reference for the finished version. Dunno if you guys know, but it's a pain drawing and coloring from brief glimpses of something. You have to keep flipping through pages asking, "When did we see the shoes? Okay, when did we see the shoulderpads?"

Ivy's new suit was a last-minute thing; Martin said in the scripts to give Ivy a more elaborate suit for the fight, but didn't know what to do. Martin threw this together in coloring, and really gets the job done. ^^

Various guys in the crowd... By the time this page goes up, Fire Emblem Fates will be on sale and we're both pretty pumped up. Martin actually got his hands on an Avatar-Editor and designed exactly what he wanted Corrin to look like. That green-haired girl in the third panel is his design for her. I like how she came out so much I almost wanna put a kid in Blues based on Kana, Corrin's son.

That was the main thing, the rest were weird. Had trouble thinking up heroes this time, just felt creatively dead. Guy in white armor was meant to be a younger, fitter Chakotay (I've... I've been watching a lot of Voyager), red-haired girl in the lineart was based vaguely on Hippolyta in the DCAU... Yeah, will try and come up with better stuff before the next crowd-shot.

I actually mentioned the date thing on the last page but yeah, to reiterate, this page is going up a day shy of five years since the page in the first chapter where we first saw Alex in costume in this same bank calling out Power's minions. Nice little bit of things coming full circle there, particularly given it's also five years since Alex and Ivy's first showdown.

So yeah, Mercy and Hazel are the other two characters this chapter will have some focus on, moreso on one than the other. We'll get more into that in the next page, but for now, just the challenge being issued.

Incidentally on Corrin there based the color scheme off the body on her orange one in Smash Bros. Think that armor looks so good it really should be the default.

So then, apparently Ivy isn't especially interested in giving Alex a shot. Maybe he'll manage to convince her later?

This is certainly an interesting page, wonder what's going to happen next.
