So. Yeaaaaah.

The thing is, the Patriot Initiative were always supposed to have a racist vibe to them, being hyper-patriotic and casting blame on who's a "real" American. Makes sense to have them antagonize Sareena, given she's Hispanic. .... The weird thing is that this was planned for several years but uh... Certain events over the past several months made the plan a lot more uncomfortable.

That said, though, yeah, was fun to do on artwork. Love the SLAM and impact of the strike, and the way the snacks on the table just get blown away. Martin mentioned he didn't even think about the snacks being knocked off when he wrote in Sareena hitting the table. ^^

What I like is that Paxton, while admitting that he now "Kinda likes" Sareena, is still more than content to just sit back and watch this happen. He's not concerned or outraged, he's just enjoying the show. Displays that while not a racist asshole like the rest of Patriot Initiative, he is sort of a prick. Also, look at the coloring; that's an apple pie he got hit on. Given the Patriot Initiative's hyper-American outlook, that's pretty funny.

Yeah, this is what we're doing with the Patriot Initiative. Like Adam said, it's something that's been in mind for a few years now as the direction to take it, but recent events... Yeah...

I was really torn in writing this page exactly how low to have Cassidy go with what exactly he said to Sareena. I wondered about a slur, or just offhand calling her Mexican or something, but figured the border thing worked the best.

Funny thing, this page actually wound up pretty different in drawing it from how I was picturing when scripting it. Originally it was just supposed to be Cassidy kind of tossing Sareena's side up against the edge of the table rather than outright picking her up and slamming her down on top of it. I decided to roll with it on this one though and actually edited in a later page to follow up on it more directly while also working the back injury into some stuff coming a little later on.

I like getting to show Chris being simultaneously more authoritative and more nervous. Guess with Laura out of the room and her dad seemingly not there he's the closest to being able to lay down the law at the moment, but I'd figure it's something he's never really had to do before.

Actually kind of weird structuring with this point in the chapter now that I think about it. This page is kind of a weird one to go back-to-back with the next one.
