Drew this while Martin was in Orlando; during one of our calls while he was down there we both complained about Mercy's hair, in particular how we both thought I'd been drawing it too poofy. Like a muffin top. I made a resolution to try and tone it down for this page and I somehow made it Goddamn worse.

Again, I like the idea of one of AME's bases being a swanky club.

Martin described Luciana's powers as being a light-based counterpart to Lenore's from Blues, and how both powers should have a sort of "substance" that causes the healing rather than just a glow or a beam of light. She seems to create a golden, honey-like liquid that heals people. Just think it's sort of cooler that way. Naturally hers come from her hands and not her eyeballs, since unlike Lenore, her power wasn't designed to look as terrifying as possible.

This page is kind of weird in simultaneously feeling a little bit paint by numbers and yet kind of odd. I guess since all it really does is close off a few lingering hooks and ratchet up some tension, but it has some oddities like the healing as part of doing that.

This is pretty much the last we'll see of this leg of the plot for awhile. It'll be revisited before the end of the chapter, but the focus is shifting full on onto the main characters for most of the remainder of the chapter from here. As such on a certain level it kind of feels like it's a little rushed, though I think it does the job just fine - it's a very long chapter as it is, rapidly coming up on officially being the longest and with quite a bit still to come even after it hits that point, so not really much need to actually see Mercy's job being carried out or anything when all it really is is a point of conflict for what all's going down here. Was some thought at a point toward doing something with that but abandoned quite awhile ago.

It doesn't show hugely here but this page had some experimenting with gradients with the substance Luciana heals with. Not too obvious in this particular case but it's something we're wanting to integrate into the comics at some point in the relatively near future, we've been playing with it in stray pictures quite a bit as of late.

Not sure what else I've got offhand, not helped by feeling pretty exhausted. Do hope everyone enjoys, though.
