I mentioned that I really loved the page where Ana and Paxton are saying good-night and are randomly adorable, but while it was close it wasn't my favorite page in the chapter. That's because from here on out we're in this vineyard and I friggin' love how it came out.

I absolutely adore these two characters and this was a really cool setting for the climax, so I went all-out on making this look romantic as fuck. The background gets more elaborate in the next page (thanks to some awesome script directions from Martin), but even here I threw in the city skyline, a butt-ton of stars, the grapes, ect....

The sequence is one of those things that leapt out at me at every stage. I loved the script, I loved the lineart and I absolutely loved the coloring job. That last one especially I wanna note because before they're in color the grapes look really, really two-dimensional. .... Looking again they still kinda do, but since they blend in better with the coloring job your eye is less drawn to them.

I can't believe it took me this long to realize "Hey. Maybe instead of rectangles along the side of the building, you can do skylines with little lights." That thing has always been a pain to me..... At least this set-up'll work in long-shots, though probably not up-close.

Yeah, despite the hook the last scene ended on we're into the Chris discussion before the power one. Power subject comes up in the next page, don't worry.

Speaking of, only two pages left in the chapter, though the next one is double-length. We'll likely have a ton to say on that one given that, particularly since it's pretty easily one of the best pages we've ever done artistically.

Not to take away from this one though, very happy with it too. Just a sweet little thing of the two talking in a neat, night setting. You can tell I didn't draw this because if I had there probably would've been a reference to the vineyard from Harvest Moon 64... which'd honestly probably be really out of place given it's supposed to be a failing, basically dead one and looks the point, so dodged bullet there I guess? Speaking of if it wasn't obvious, though it probably is, this is Alex's parents' vineyard. It's been awhile since that particular subject came up.

Really hope everyone enjoys, and be sure to come back for more on Monday. Until then, Odyssey!
