This is one of those weird cases where I got ideas about the characters drawing them. Obviously Everett is set up as a horrible, evil little bastard, even kicking his big sister in the ribs as he's about to beat beaten. But I didn't expect him to look so scared and vulnerable when Megan hugged him. She clearly cares about her brother, no matter how bad it is, and in that picture it feels like, to at least some extent, he cares about her too. Or at least appreciates having someone to protect him when he's helpless without his mind control.

Speaking of, love how cute he looks being grabbed by Misty. ^^ Really DOES look like a little boy being handled by a fed-up adult. In general kid was a LOT of fun to draw. The script did call for Megan to pick him up and carry him out, but dunno if Martin meant for it to be that silly-looking over-the-shoulder thing. Look how weirdly cute it is. ^^

Yeah, I was kind of figuring Megan would essentially just be running with him hugged to her chest, but do like this particular approach with it.

In general I really wanted to communicate a lot with the characters in this page, both Everett's shortsightedness and his anger while showing how Megan is so thoroughly devoted to him that she'll fly into a rage to protect him directly after he attacks her. The two don't get a whole lot of screentime in this chapter so I was wanting to really make it count and start the characters off on a memorable note.

To that end I did kind of struggle a bit trying to come up with a way for them to get away. Think this approach worked pretty organically though, as far as she knows Ana is rescuing Misty from danger she was put into as opposed to inadvertently foiling her.

Abusive relationships make no sense, Megan seems to be a bit of a masochist in regards to Everett, what in the world is going to happen now.
