One thing me and Martin love about evolving artwork: If a tweak in the art style or designs is a good idea then going back to before we did it will feel weird almost immediately. Drawing the Blues kids in their pre-time-skip design felt simply bizarre. Valerie looks really freaky with her hair long now and I hated the sensation of drawing Grant with his shorter, non-messier hair. Nicky was a weird one too, since his new hair-cut is a vast improvement over the old.

Either way, this page made it feel all the cooler that we're doing a crossover on this end, since "Oh, right, the kids have never showed up outside of April Fools". What I like about that is that Marvelous Man HAS shown up. Speaking of, remember appreciating Martin relegating him to a silhouette; over the course of Blue vs Gold I'd gotten pretty sick of drawing him.

Also trying to get in the habit of drawing those heads-for-the-narration-bubbles. Something we noticed here is that they need to be bigger.

Funny thing, I was going to have a reference to O'Hara taking a plea deal and going to prison in Blues (during those two pages that were nothing but news footage) but couldn't work it in. I just like it because you never really see that in super-hero stories and yeah, that IS probably what would happen to her given the evidence they'd have.

Yeah, this chapter is a Blues crossover. Pretty much not been trying to hide that but didn't really want to be upfront with it right from the get-go. Probably not hard to guess which of the group it is who'll be dropping in either.

It really does look odd to go back to the kids in these old designs, which is kind of a good indicator to us at least that those were for the better. Think Val in particular is the most distracting-looking of the lot.

The O'Hara thing was kind of awkward to fit in. I really meant to bring it up in the last chapter but there wasn't really a place for it, so so long as I had Alex expositing to Christina about what all's been going on in Blues and about the main previous time he's appeared in it felt like a natural time to bring it up. Convenient since originally I was split on whether to have Christina, McShay, or John be the one Alex was catching up on the subject.
