Heheh.... Those sure are some nice cars, huh?

Martin and I have for a long time been struggling with cars; they simply never look any good and are always clunky and frustrating to draw around... One night while experimenting, we both noted how hard they were to work with just because of the widely-varing shape and look of them from different angles, leading me to complain, "Maybe I should just go buy a toy car" to use as an art reference.

That got Martin to digging around. We soon found a site with plenty of 3D models of cars, with specific makes and models. Using those as a reference resulted in... Well.... That first panel really does look a lot better, doens't it? ^^ Really makes me sad Jake's car was destroyed, and this likely means cars will be making appearances in the comic much more often.

Pretty sure this storyline wasn't meant to be as sidelined as it was, but don't worry, we'll be seeing more of it in the next chapter. ^^

Anyway, I got work. Hope you folks have enjoyed this chapter. ^^

Is the ending note too tacky, particularly given the next chapter is called Blue Cold? I dunno, iffy on it.

Either way, pretty happy with this one, though do wish there were some extras in it - kind of a casualty of needing to save some time, I guess they're presently in the van or something themselves. As Adam mentioned we've made a big jump forward on cars with some new techniques, specifically using models for references and having figured out how to make reliable curved lines in Manga Studio in the manner of straight ones. They really hide the setting there, it's pretty stupid. ... We're talking about at some point switching to Clip Studio for the record.

But yeah, it was actually always intended (well, once the call was made to split the chapters) to just open and close with the AME crew, since the focus on them is really more going to be a thing in the next chapter. Funny enough of the scripts written so far it's followed the same format as this one, but that won't be the case by any means, trust me.

We're going on a break before that point though. Various things have had us running without much of a buffer for awhile now so we really welcome the chance to work on rebuilding one for both WaR and Blues. Thanks for reading!
