So this is one of the most ambitious pages we've done.
Yeah, as I was scripting this whole sequence was kind of having a general feeling of, "Well, hope Adam doesn't hate doing this." It's been fun to mess around with though, going a bit heavier and more dynamic like this. Next page continues that trend in its own way.
Not the easiest page to comment on for me given not a lot is actually especially happening, feel like Adam will have more to say on it than I do, but I'm still quite happy with the end results, and think it does a good bit to kind of put over just how Verbren really can be when he goes all out. First major demonstration of his abilities that I can recall and hopefully it makes an impression.
Though we won't be posting the next page on Friday - Wright as Rayne's 9th anniversary is on Thursday and this year we've decided to go ahead and post the year 10 preview a day later, partially just since it's more practical than back-to-back updates and partially as an excuse to pull ahead a little more after these pretty time-intensive pages have slowed us down a tad. I have a convention that weekend that's also part of that decision. Sorry for the delay but hopefully everyone will enjoy the preview of what's to come!
Heheh... Yeah, I felt a pretty natural twist of intimidation and excitement reading this script. To my own surprise I was able to get it out in a single day, though did have to hyper-focus on it...
Admittedly this was helped immensely by me using 3D models as a guide for the trains. In this case I actually oculdn't use them quite as much of a crutch as before; I can't tilt those model, which I'd need to do to "crash" them, so could only use them as a general guide... This did rapidly become a favorite; a clear bar-raising in terms of set-pieces that we had never quite tried before.
Hazel having that big group-shot rushing out toward the camera was cool too; just looked awesome. ^^ Plus I love how worn out and dirty Verbren looks after standing in the wake of an explosion.
