Hey, I hit on a cutesy filler name for WaR finally like Blues has!

Funny, I actually kicked around trying out something a bit more substantive for the filler this time, kind of going into some history on Alex, but I decided it'd work much better doing it for the next chapter instead. So for now we're doing the redraws like Blues had last chapter; I dunno if we'll do them the entire break, but at least for the moment I'm partial to getting some in.

Here we have a scene from waaaaaaaaaay back in chapter 3. Been ages since we've seen Young, so was good getting the chance to update his design. That was pretty much all Adam - I basically just sent him several potential pages and told him to figure something out while I went to bed and this is the panel he decided to go with. Think it's a good new look for Young, really fits what I have in mind for the character, though who knows how long it might be before he pops up in the story again. ... Funny enough I know exactly when his next filler appearance (ish) will be.

It doesn't really show on Comic Fury but now the borders on the comic are transparent instead of the color of the site background. Mostly a DeviantArt move but I thought it bared mentioning; this is why the URL in the bottom corner (be honest, how many of you actually knew I own the URL on that?) is boxed, to accommodate for DA's multiple potential background colors.

Something something topical Fire Emblem joke. Honestly I could probably write a Three Houses gag-a-day strip if I had the time and inclination for it so I'm not objecting.

Heheh... Yeha, this was a lot of fun to work on. ^^ Like Martin said, I just kinda picked this out of a list of re-draw candidates he tossed me just because it was the one I was most curious about. Have to say I loved the chance to do it.

Adam Young is a character that I think was supposed to have turned up by now, hence why he was first teased so super-early in the comic, but his first name was specifically Martin naming him after me. Because of that I've sort of had a soft-spot for the character and after seeing that old design... Yikes. Was past time I took a second to tweak it. The beard is just so scraggily and bum-like it really needed an improvement. ^^

So I started really getting into how to draw beards better... He wound up with one that was much better-groomed and scholarly. His hair, likewise, got much more under control and less all-over-the-place.... The funny part is that like me he's a guy with a ponytail and a beard, so I could've used myself as a model, but it would've been too big of a departure on both of those.

..... Jordan, by contrast, has ZERO major changes to her design, but the car she's being pinned against looks waaaay better. Very proud of that. ^^

Yeah, it's simple, but still very happy with it. Hell, I worked hard on Young's design; when Martin saw the lineart and noted a few issues with the proportions, I dropped everything so I could tweak it and get it to look extra nice, despite it just being filler. ^^

Hopefully won't be too long before we see this guy again. With the art our art style improves, the longer a character goes without being drawn, the more likely we'll have to re-design them once they DO show up again. I'm so happy with this design that I'll be disappointed if I wind up needing to re-do it before using this one.
