First off, we have a Discord for the comics! I set it up ages ago and have been dragging my feet on actually making it public, but decided to finally get around to it. We're always happy to hear from fans so maybe swing by from time to time, eh? Link's at the top on Comic Fury but just in case (or if you're reading this on DA)...

That said... Hell of a place to end the chapter, huh?

Yeah, this felt like a pretty interesting direction to take the story in and a good place to leave this chapter at - Alex has reconsidered some on the Dorothy situation in light of what happened with Ivy and he has some new grievances to raise with it. It bares noting that while we see the rest of this conversation in the next chapter, it's not going to immediately resume from this point; it felt more proper to give it some buildup before we really see just what Alex is wanting to say to Sarabeth and Sareena exactly.

In general I've been very eager to get to A Girl Named Dorothy for a long while; originally the idea of it was conceived as being a subplot to the Patriot Initiative stuff, then I decided both storylines had too much going on to really share screentime and decided to split them off from each other. Then it was going to open with setting up the Patriot Initiative stuff then go into this before returning to that, but it was decided going ahead and getting that leg of the plot finished with first flowed better. It's a very different chapter - we've done stuff in a similar kind of format to what it takes but I don't think ever really along the same line in terms of some of its subject matter - and both has some new characters and brings back up ones we haven't seen in awhile, so really hoping everyone's going to enjoy it.

Going to go on a bit of a break before we get to that point though. If anybody has anything in particular they would like to see out of the next filler cycle be sure to let us know. If nothing else we do need to hurry up and figure out what eye design we're using for Xandy.

Figures, finally sat down to work on this and kind of scatterbrained. But very, VERY happy with this page. The effects of the better lineart and the improved colors and shading really makes the page pop. We get a better look at Alex's new eye-style too, or rather Dorothy's new eye-style. It's incredibly girly and lash-y, which I think nicely illustrates that this isn't Alex's body. Appropriate, given what this page is about.

Over the last few months, as we evolve super-quickly into better artists like we're Pokemon, it's been feeling like the comics are being re-invented as a result. The next WaR page is going to focus more tightly on the core premise of Alex being trapped in a body, and a life, that isn't his own, with all the lingering outrage and injustice that entails brought out. It's a subject I'm really into and am seriously looking forward to seeing discussed. ^^

Little thing, but I had the idea to throw in the stormy weather outside. The rain in the first chapter, the dark clouds out the windows, the thunderclap in the last panel... Yeah, just really had fun with throwing that element in.

But yeah, swing by the Discord, folks. We'll be happy to see some folks chime in. ^^

Very interesting, wonder what's going to happen next.
