Heheh... Yeah, this was just a fun, cozy page to draw that depicted a montage of Alex enjoying his time staying with the Wrights and interacting with the family. I tried to draw on family get togethers I've had with my own cousins when meeting up is a special occasion for it. My favorite part is probably the third panel where they're eating on the patio looking over the mountains. Just very sweet. ^^ Of course the shot of Alex finally left alone, heavy with thoughts, was fun to draw too... Yeah, great page.

The idea for this page was for us to go a Lee/Kirby route where I'd come up with dialog for it based on the panel descriptions Martin subbed in for me... I was really excited at the idea, and it felt really fun to try, but honestly we both kinda thought the page looked so good without the dialog that it didn't need it. It's almost disappointing but eh, maybe some other time. ^^

About all I got. Just tried to be as sweet and affectionate as I could here, really makes the last panel hit all the harder.

Actually, as long as we're talking about the last panel, wanna just point out how much I'm loving Martin's work on the details. The mountains and grass continue to be great, but now we get a great shot of the sky. I go jogging at night and spend a lot of time staring at the night sky, so just felt neat seeing such an accurate-looking version in our comics. ^^

Yeah, this page was kind of written with the idea of the dialogue would be added after the visuals were done, but then we thought it worked perfectly fine without the dialogue. Admittedly think the negative space in the fifth panel is kind of distracting, but think otherwise it's a pretty natural way to represent all of this.

This feels like a pertinent time to call back to this page waaaay back in Storms Are Brewing -

It was mentioned back when that Dorothy was wanting her dad to ask her to move in with him and I wanted to really make it clear why exactly that is with this chapter; while I do feel like Dorothy and her mom are close, her mom's also very absent as we've seen. Wanted to really have a feeling of family and closeness throughout this stuff here.

I really like those sparkles in the fifth panel. It's kind of a more cartoony thing than we tend to really do but I think it's a cute touch that fits well with Jodie's awed expression.

What are they doing in the fifth panel? Very interesting, wonder what's going to happen next.

OH! Heh... They're just playing a board game. ^^ Am glad you like, though.
