I feel like Power having Alex's other daughter doesn't come up enough; it makes sense given Alex hasn't really been in a position where they can do much about it, nor is Becky old enough to really get a lot of screentime, but it did feel like it was time to address that situation so long as we're also addressing Xandy. Alex planning to do this was offhandedly alluded to in the previous chapter -

This is all we get of this in this chapter but it felt like an important thing for us to see, showing that Alex is invested in being a good parent for Becky as well despite not really having gotten any chance to know her and really only even having seen her once or twice before. Think it was a good decision on my part putting the Ivy and Candice story as the lead-in to this one, really helps show the contrast between them.

Hope everyone enjoys this one. It's been a rough as hell year for basically the entire so if these last couple of pages of the year can do anything to make things a little better for somebody that'd mean a lot.

Heheh... Yeah, this was a really nice way to re-introduce Becky to the plot. I wanna say the particular placement of doing the Ivy storyline and then going into this was my idea. Maybe. It's hard to tell who suggested what sometime but I remember weighing in on it at some point.

Either way, I like that despite being a crime boss, Power seems to understand that she needs to do what's best for her daughter. At least that's my interpretation of this. She gets that having Alex in her life might not necessarily be a bad thing, nor would meeting her sister Xandy.... But also has zero plans of giving up custody, pointing out that she's best off with her. Granted, that last judgement isn't exactly an unbiased one, but she's also probably not wrong. Probably.

I remember being really confused how to do a lot of the expressions in the scenes with Becky. The 5th panel's dialog could call for Alex being happy, melancholic, outright heartbroken, pissed off.... Very happy with the result.

Great seeing a cameo from Miss Brooks, one of my favorite random characters to keep popping up.... Also Glory, who's apparently a party animal. When I drew this I didn't picture her wearing pants.
