Heheh..... Hey, yeah, so this is a pretty good look at Poppy Tear; creepy insatiable nutjob. Her design is very detailed and elaborate, so it's often a pain to get through for both of us, but she's also just a blast to come up with poses and concepts for. I love the weird little dance she's doing before shit starts to go down, and how once she gets ready to fight, her arms go up like she's holding marionette dolls. We tried to play creepy-puppeteer to the hilt with her and really hope she won't disappoint. ^^

I kinda do like how Xmarlek is not giving a shit about this, though. He's clearly not a fan of this particular kind of insanity around his job. I think in general he dislikes flashy displays or "supervillain" type embellishments, and prefers just being a "normal" crimeboss. I dunno, just how it read drawing him. He doesn't even want to hear what this chick's selling or wants to know why she has a lock. Just immediately wants her dead.

Commenting while watching WrestleMania so this is a little awkward. Night one was great, night two... Night one was great.

I wavered for a long while on what name to go with for Poppy Tear, to the point that as originally scripted at the end of the last chapter she was put down as Maria Nation; I was mostly split between that and Marionette as the names. Truth be told I'm actually kind of more partial to it, but Adam preferred this name so I figured I might as well trust his stance on it.

So yeah, this was meant to be a pretty immediately impactful introduction, kind of demonstrating right away how she fights and what kind of mannerisms she carries. Wanted it to be a pretty freaky introduction. Granted in hindsight I kind of wish the camera angles here were a bit tighter but eh.

Another thing I like here is how blatantly Xmarlek is having none of this. Kind of just a, "Not today, please, just go away," sort of expression there, pretty fun I think.
