Eheh... Yeah, after unexplained arm spasms, our heroes consult with the local magic experts in their crew to for a possible explanation. Makes sense, eh?
IIII've kinda been up all day after only getting four hours of sleep as I type this, so dunno how much I'll have to say but glad with the results on this one. In particular getting to see Occam out of costume for the first time. The sweater being split in half was me trying to make sure he still had "balance" as a theme in his design, especially since it being asymmetrical meant he was putting more effort into keeping straight.
Speaking of clothes, felt like a jerk for how little Alex wore Dorothy's glasses in the last chapter so wanted to include them here (though turned out better than the Starchild mask; I entirely forgot that part of the costume for the entire last chapter). Also Misty having a "Glass Joe" shirt was something I randomly asked Martin if she could have while drawing her and he said yes.
Yeah, this one was fun to do. Did make sense for Alex's first reaction to what happened being to go ask Sareena and Misty about it, since they're the main people Alex knows with knowledge on this sort of thing, and I do like the balance that comes with them being aware of the general concept but not really having exposure to it. Think it rides the line well between showing them as knowledgeable without falling into the trap of having them know everything about everything by any means. Kind of just a fun page in general I think.
This one actually came together pretty late; first real show of the benefits of the delayed update time I guess since while we've had ones we've finished coloring / shading after the 11 PM time we used to use before this, this one was only actually finished being drawn about 20 minutes beforehand and so everything else had to be done in the interim. Consequence of Adam's work schedule unfortunately but hey, life happens. And plus side waiting for it I was able to finish another Militant Gold page so hey, win-win.
Like the direction with seeing Ash out of costume here. Actually had people ask about his face since we haven't seen him out of costume before and yeah, that's just face paint, no huge deal.
