Heh... Yeah, Hazel immediately bounces back and attempts to rally the troops... Which was seemingly just what Xmarlek was figuring would happen. Now he can strike at just the right time.
Page is one of those ones that had a lot of little things making it harder, in particular all the mooks and being on a bit of a time crunch. Still rather pleased with the end result, given how many heads there were and how much was going on with it all at once.
Little touch I like was Margaret's expression. She's clearly nervous; she was one of the people Hazel had managed to sway to his side before Xmarlek and was aware of the plan to usurp him. I get the feeling she knows what horse she bet on and what'll happen if Xmarlek comes out on top.
Pretty happy with how this one came out but yeah, it was kind of a chore. Had to do a lot of new colors for all the various members of the gang we're seeing, plus everyone having changed outfits since it's a different day and the like, and the whole thing was coming off of me having colored tomorrow's Blues page. Felt like it took awhile.
Related note, little touch in this is that Verbren's wearing the same jacket he was in the second page of the chapter while everyone else has changed. Feel like he's probably not as concerned with cosmetics as the rest of Hazel's crew and just does whatever.
Either way, hope everyone enjoys this one. Had fun writing this sequence. Really in general I've kind of enjoyed just what an unrepentant asshole Xmarlek's been this whole chapter so far; kind of a fun way to show that while he has a beef with Hazel and Hazel's a vindictive, rather unhinged murderer, Xmarlek isn't good by default just because he's up against him.
