MAN it was a trip seeing Author-Write-Us again; been a looong time, is just a random book-themed villains who pops up on occasion. Since we've established that Occam either owns or partially owns a bookstore it made sense to have him pop up trying to rob the place.
Very simple page, but really happy with the result. Given Alex is in a rough situation I'm always really happy whenever they're allowed to just enjoy themselves. Having a new friend in Occam is just sort of sweet to see. You know it's a true friend when he's willing to go with you into extreme danger.
Liked doing Alex psycho-writing because the person controlling them clearly doesn't have the best finesse, Martin made note of it for the script. The address they wrote down was "372 Peachblos Roa," with is a mangled spelling of "Peachblossom Road." Atlanta has this weird running gag IRL about peach-themed names so could actually be a real street name for all I know. .... Kinda hope it isn't but eh.
Funny, this one was a case where I rushed the cleanup then Adam worked on the shading while I worked on the coloring since it was late coming together... but we wound up finishing with plenty of time to spare without having needed to divide the duties on it anyway. Better than the last minute scramble I guess.
But yeah, pretty happy with how this one turned out. Initially I kind of had other ideas for this page and had sort of half written it that way, and at a point I was going to slot in another one before it, but I decided the ideas I had in mind as-is weren't working so scaled it back to kind of just being a transitionary page. Might go into how things changed once we get past where this is heading, the essence of things is pretty much the same just with some stuff moved around.
