Woo, onto chapter nine! Don't forget, the schedule and format change take effect on Monday, so keep that in mind as we move forward into the new chapter.

Anyway, I went through a lot of different ideas for this cover, and for the chapter cover at that. Initially in writing it it was called Watch Me Rise and the cover had a Heaven / Earth / Hell dynamic with a split screen of White Noise, Starchild, and John. Then after that along with the title change it swapped to something with Starchild and some others digging in a mine, then from there it went to something with Starchild walking amongst a huge group of random, anonymous workers.

Pretty happy with this end result, though. It gets some good little nods in to what all's going on in the chapter, say it's visually interesting enough without being anything too crowded or overly complicated, and we kind of see who our main players of the chapter are going to be. There was one bit of foreshadowing for down the line on one of these, but it wound up stuck behind the bar code.

Hopefully all of you like this, and we'll see you on Monday!

Yeah, was sent a lot of cover ideas before Martin settled on this one. ^^ I think the first Heaven/Earth/Hell idea was my favorite, but could use it some other time. Not complaining through- idea we went with was likely the easiest one for me to deal with.

But yeah, ads in the paper mostly all refer to major players in the chapter, though can't say who all it'll be just yet. But had empty space on the cover afterward, so had to fill some myself. "Security Needed," "Is Your Child Sunny," and "Dancing Courses Offered" were all improbed by me. Idea would be that after White Noise's attack in BP on that radio station, they'd want more back-up in case of that, the Child thing is a reference to the next BP chapter, and just felt an ad for Lara's dancing school might've been nice to have.

There's another written by me about Dorothy's high school needing to hire a librarian, but it's covered by the barcode. Too bad I couldn't slip in a Blues reference somehow, but eh. ^^

Occurs to me it's kind of a funny coincidence that you threw in a reference to that dance school, given toward the end of the chapter it'll be a bit of a plot point.

I think this cover is neat and is this chapter going to be shifting focus a lot?

A fair bit, but generally it'll be staying with each scene for a few pages at a time. Toward the end, though, it kind of is going to hit a point of focusing on O'Hara's side of the plot for awhile to being with Alex for like ten straight pages before going to something else to wrap up.
