Y'know, I've been irked every now and then by how I draw ears. Putting that earpiece in did not help.
But yeah, pretty happy with this page. I think around this time I was getting really annoyed with how bare the backgrounds have been, so tried to avert it a little and spice things up in the page following this one. That girl's room should be really fancy an rich, with a lot of trinkets and crap.
Granted, that's largely because I don't know what kind of stuff spoiled rich girls have in their rooms. I guess.... Vanity mirrors? Overflowing jewelry boxes? Plushies made from the skin of pandas?
Sneaking stuff was fun, at least. And liked getting to do the dialog-tinting for Power and Misty. Sorta wanna try it another time. One neat thing I like about a lot of comic books that you don't think about is how writers will give each superhero their own text-box for narration and off-screen dialog, often with a unique icon, front, or color to set it apart from others.
And here are Martin's Comments:
This was an interesting sequence for me to write. The stealth stuff has come up before in BP, but nothing more extended like this was. I will go ahead and say this whole scene is pretty much a practice run for a chapter way down the line.
So, yeah, we're naturally about to see a short conversation between Alex and Patricia that we're both very happy with, and then things will go in a different direction from there. This page is pretty much just the lead-in to it and, again, just a bit of practice for later stuff.
Yeah, I'm blanking on what else to really say on this one. Whatever, I'm happy with how it came out, I want to do more pages like this in the future, and hopefully readers enjoy.
