Come on, Alex, it's your first chance to look cool to the BP past with the impending merger and you get knocked on your ass then run away. Get it together, man.
Speaking of, if you're reading this on DeviantArt this won't mean anything to you, but on Comic Fury, the integration of BP into WaR's archives has been happening little by little. It won't finish until after this chapter's done given I don't want to start uploading BP pages alongside this chapter's and making it weird to read later, but as of this writing the first two chapters are up and Adam and I will work on putting up more later.
Anyway, yeah. Pretty straightforward page - Alex survived the onslaught, he knocked out O'Hara like he wanted to do, but he's not winning this battle and he knows it. Better to retreat, call it a partial success, and reexamine the war effort from here.
Chapter has a few pages still to come, hopefully everyone enjoys what's coming up. In that time we'll be getting back to Rin, tying up some loose ends, and getting an indicator of what's to come next.
.... Huh. Yeah, it honestly DIDN'T likely make that much sense to DA readers, that whole announcement. Weird.
But yeah, a lot of fun this page. Really, balls-out, hard-running is a lot of fun to do. Motion is great to draw in this kind of art. To make sure the final panel was done properly we discussed the concept back and forth a bit. Wanted it to look appropriately balls-out running. Idea is he's partly stumbling before catching himself.
That's honestly a hard thing to convey in scripts; bits where everyone kinda knows what you're talking about but it's hard to describe. I usually don't even bother clarifying in Blues scripts since they're orders to myself but at times me and Martin have to hash it out. I kinda knew exactly what he meant from that last panel but just to make sure there was no misunderstanding I asked to clarify. Not complaining, think those descriptions add a lot of personality to the scripts. ^^
