Yup, new chapter! here we go! As you can tell from the formatting of the cover, this chapter is more on the Black Princess side of things. Ish. I mean, there are a lot of WaR characters (including some really awesome stuff with Laura), but I personally tend to see the divide between the two comics more an issue of subject matter. WaR handles crime, standard superheroics, making the most of a bad situation, and the difficulty of living a life that isn't your own while still trying to be a hero. Black Princess deals with supernatural problems, magic, unexpected freakish phenomenon out of a Creepypasta, and doing what you need to do to get what you want.
Not sure where Blues is in comparison to that, it's kinda in the middle. I guess just a kinda standard Hero's Journey kinda deal? Yeah, let's go with that. In general, since BP and WaR got merged, is it okay I'm still separating them in my mind? Should I still be doing that? Like I said, this chapter does a fair job blurring things and both BP and WaR characters are highlighted.
There I go again. Should I be separating the characters like that? Especially since Laura, while much closer to Alex, does also have a friendship with Sareena and Misty. Then again, I always got the idea that while Laura and Sareena are friends, the former doesn't like the latter all that much.
Hell, I mean, even this title "Storms are Brewing" invokes WaR more than BP. Why am I analyzing this so much? I guess because this wasn't exactly a challenging cover. Basically farted this one out.
Yeah, this chapter is very different, and focuses on characters central to both halves of the cast, including on some we haven't really put much time into to date. A lot of it's fleshing out the supporting cast, though we'll also be seeing the leads get stuff to do themselves.
Not sure how much I should preface this offhand. As has been said before and as the cover heavily indicates, a lot of this chapter is very downbeat and dreary. There are underlying reasons for this, but it'll be a bit into the chapter before we really get into them.
Either way as I think I've said before this chapter is running alongside the previous one, covering different events happening over the course of the day to different people. It might feel a little jumpy due to that, as it's more a collection of miniature storylines than it is a cohesive narrative. It's been an interesting experiment but we're both pretty happy with how it's been coming out so far and hopefully readers will be too.
