What's funny is all my comments for this are based around the first panel and the last panel, and I dunno how much I can say about the first. ^^
The last though. .... Yeaaaah, Martin was planning this as one of the big images for the comic. Was really hype to be this freaky and off-putting. Martin gave me a great, elaborate description for how to draw this; at one point it was going to just be Alex on TV, but when I got the script he said, "No. Make it look like his corpse."
Funny part is that over in Blues I've been writing and drawing Xandy as basically a miniature Alex in the haunted house. It's probably the most times in a single chapter I've drawn "Alex" in like a loooong time.
The camera slowly zooming in on "Dorothy" wasn't really in the script, it just kinda happened. That's been going a lot lately, but really been enjoying it when it does. ^^ Happy accidents, as Ross would say.
Yeah, not really much that can be said for the time being on the first panel. We'll approach that in detail a bit more later.
So...
Yeah, this was supposed to be the big, "Shit just got real," page of the chapter. A lot of the stuff involving the titular show really shifts in tone from this point as you could expect, and we're going a bit darker for awhile coming out of it naturally. If you're wondering, no, this isn't cutting back to Hazel in the next page, we'll be going directly into follow-up on this twist in things first.
This has been something that's been in mind for a long, long time to happen within this chapter, so I'm curious exactly how it and its aftermath is going to go over.
