Yeah, this one was a definite to be gotten to at some point during the filler; not really the biggest scene ever or anything but at least to us a pretty memorable one.

Is actually what Adam was wanting to do for the first one in the set, but I wanted to try getting out some more substantive stuff first. Did definitely want to get to this one though, and it kind of makes a good breather after revisiting the first chapter and redesigning Young; realized a day or two we needed to decide what to do for this filler and I pretty much immediately told Adam to just go ahead and do this one.

What's funny about the timing on this one is that while Adam was putting the finishes on it I was writing a script for chapter 25 that has probably one of the cuter moments we've done. Funny how the dissonance on that lines up I guess. Of course we have chapter 24 to get through first. ... Yeah, I'm pretty far ahead on scripts at the moment. I actually wrote most of the next chapter in one night once I got a good rhythm going on it so that put me well ahead of schedule there.

Thoughts on the meat by the way? Been experimenting with a little more complex paint-like look for things, and while I kind of phoned it in a little here it's something I've been experimenting in more detail with in regards to hair. Main hesitation is kind of being afraid it might turn into too much of a time sink doing it for a whole page. Might try the next filler as an excuse to mess around with it further and see how it goes over, I dunno.

Heh. Funny thing I'm only getting a really good look at this filler now; I saw it on my phone up until now. I personally really love the way the meat looks. ^^

The funny part is that the original page that did tis had FOUR Jacks eating like crazy, with the final one looking totally crazed; his head up and dripping the horrible strands that are all that remain of the steak into his open maw. It's just a great, fun image.

I would've drawn that last one as well, but I was feeling very sick while drawing this. I had this weird, unexplained nausea and I basically dumped myself into bed the very second I finished it. Feeling a bit better tonight, but still a bit queasy. So figures it would be my idea to have a character ripping a steak apart. Especially since I'm personally a vegetarian.

I actually love the little touch of his teeth getting a little bit redder in each shot. ^^
