Yeah, this is another simple picture. I don't think I would've thought of this myself, Alex simply not knowing where to go in the building.

Is this the first time we did this style on phone-calls? Think it is... Hang on.... YES! It is. Very happy with this; typically, phone calls tend to be really boring to draw since we're only seeing one person, always in the same pose. This really adds a great visual punch to it, inspired by Persona 5's handling of the subject. Liked it so much, I 100% plan on using it for the next Blues chapter.

Because this has such light heads we tried to be a bit more intense on backgrounds.... Offhand was finally able to utilize some recent breakthroughs I'd gotten on bookshelves for this. It's pretty transparently lazy; the shelves on that bookcase are copy/pasted just with different colors, but think it's not TOO noticeable. Since bookshelves had been a nightmare before I worked this out, feel disproportionately proud of the lineart on that.

Yeah, this was basically a case where I saw a similar cut-in effect being done in Persona 5 Royal and was like, "I want to try that out," and thus here it is. Think it shows that this page was done before some of the stuff we've been messing around with - the door here doesn't look as good in the previous two pages since it was done before the manner we've been doing wood had been entirely figured out, and due to the layering on this page being more complex than usual it would have been kind of a pain to fix it. Think this is the last page really done before that point though.

Candice will be a fairly major presence in this chapter, though I'm not sure she's actually in all that many of the pages - I feel like in a lot of ways she's kind of Alex's link to Dorothy and clearest way to understand her, and there was probably some between-chapter coaching about how to act around them that went on between them.

I like leaning into just how good Alex is at leading people and at spinning together lies on a whim - do get the sense he can be pretty manipulative when he needs to be, which is kind of funny given he's wearing a Songbird shirt and if you read Blue Blood Heroes that isn't exactly something Grant excels at.

Not a gigantic amount to say beyond that but do hope that everyone enjoys this one. Thoughts on the tree tone in the background, though? I'm kind of worried it might be a bit too distracting. ... Maybe can try making a custom one more in line with our own art style, that probably wouldn't actually be that hard not that I think about it. I dunno.

The trees look fine to me, very interesting, wonder what's going to happen next.
